ANM Results for HK97

We applied  ANM to the full prohead II capsid (107520 residues) using a coarse-graining scheme where every 6th residue is retained. The resulting network contained 17920 nodes from which we investigated the potential global (slow) motions of the prohead II maturation process.

Movies (animated gifs) for the slowest, global modes are linked below (degenerate modes are listed on the same line).

In all of these modes one can observe the tendency for the prohead structure to expand from its roughly spherical shape to the icosahedral shape adopted in the mature (head II) stage.
