GNM Results for HK97

GNM mode 1 indicates that chain G (pentamer forming chain) is the most mobile in prohead II and undergoes a dramatic decrease in mobility. Figures colored by mobility (red most mobile, blue least mobile), left is from the prohead II and right is from the head II structure. Below, the major difference in mobility upon maturation is seen to be in the E-loop (residues 148-181). This loop contains the residue Lys189 that forms an isopeptide bond with Asn356 of a neighboring chain in the mature form.
